Privacy Policy
Applies to the Wavvy Radio Android app (package app.wavvy.radio) and this website.
Effective date: August 13, 2026 · Last updated: September 1, 2026 · Document version 1.4
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Wavvy Radio is an internet radio player published by the Wavvy Radio app owner ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles, what stays on your device, what third parties receive, and the choices you have.
Privacy and support contact: [email protected]. We aim to answer privacy and data deletion requests within 30 days.
2. Data we collect and why
Wavvy Radio has no accounts and no login. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or photos. The table below reflects the same disclosures we make in the Google Play Data safety form.
| Data | Purpose | Handling |
|---|---|---|
| Favorites, favorite countries, filters | Remember your stations and browsing preferences | Stored on your device only; not sent to us |
| Playback settings (volume, last station, resume-after-interruption, sleep timer) | Restore playback the way you left it | Stored on your device only; not sent to us |
| Cached station list and search index | Fast and offline-tolerant search | Stored on your device (local storage / IndexedDB) |
| Stream health signals (which streams failed for you) | Hide broken streams from default lists | Stored on your device only |
| IP address and device/app info | Deliver audio streams, station data, and ads | Processed by third parties in transit (see section 4); not stored by us |
| Advertising ID | Advertising and ad measurement | Collected by Google Ads, not by us |
| Camera image (QR scanning only) | Read a favorites QR code you point the camera at | Processed on-device in real time; never uploaded or stored |
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your data for any purpose unrelated to the app's core radio functionality.
3. Permissions the app requests
- Internet / network state — required to load station data and play streams.
- Foreground service (media playback) — keeps audio playing when the screen is off.
- Camera — optional, only used while a QR scan is open. You can decline it and use the app normally.
- Advertising ID — used by Google Ads to serve and measure ads.
4. Third parties
- Radio-Browser.info — supplies the public station directory. When you browse, search, or scan a QR code, the app sends a request that includes your IP address and standard request metadata (such as the user-agent string) so the directory can answer it. radio-browser.info
- Radio broadcasters / stream hosts — audio is streamed directly from the station's own servers, which receive your IP address and player request details. Each broadcaster's own policies apply.
- Google Ads — serves banner and in-list sponsored placements and may use the advertising ID and device signals. How Google uses data
Directory requests and station artwork use encrypted HTTPS connections. Audio streams use whatever connection the broadcaster provides, which may not be encrypted.
5. Advertising and your ad choices
Wavvy Radio is free and ad-supported. In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, we ask for your consent through Google's consent flow before personalized ads are requested, and you can change that choice at any time from the consent option in the app. On any device you can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
6. Retention and deleting your data
- App data lives on your device until you remove it — there is no server-side copy to delete.
- In the app: Settings → Clear favorites and Clear search cache & index.
- On the device: Android Settings → Apps → Wavvy Radio → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.
- For anything else, email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request".
7. Children
Wavvy Radio is not directed to children. It is rated for users aged 13 and over because it streams third-party radio content and shows ads. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and you want their device data removed, clear app data on the device or contact us.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because Wavvy Radio keeps user data on your device and does not maintain accounts, most requests are fulfilled directly in the app. For requests involving ad data, contact Google. To contact us, email [email protected].
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes on Google Play. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
